Quick answer

How much does rooftop solar cost in Gurgaon?

It depends on the size of the plant and how you pay. If you buy the plant (CAPEX), business roofs typically cost about ₹40,000–55,000 per kW + GST, with money back in about 5–6 years (estimate), and homes can get up to ₹78,000 under PM Surya Ghar. If you pay per unit (OPEX), there is no investment in the plant, and each solar unit typically costs 10–30% less than the grid rate.

  • Subsidised plants use DCR panels from a registered vendor, as the scheme requires.
  • We file the net-metering application with DHBVN and the subsidy claim for you.

Commercial & industrial rooftops

For a business, a rooftop plant lowers the cost of every unit you use in the daytime. Buy the plant for the biggest long-term saving, or pay only for the units it makes, with no investment in the plant.
  • Both ways to pay priced side by side: buy & own (CAPEX) or pay per unit (OPEX).
  • Business owners may be able to claim accelerated depreciation. Ask your CA.
  • Structures designed for local wind loads, with walkways for safe cleaning.

Schools, colleges, hospitals

Institutions

Schools, colleges and hospitals run labs, lifts, lights and cooling all day. Rooftop solar covers much of that daytime load, so more of your budget goes to what matters.
  • Pay per unit often suits institutions: no capital spend, a fixed rate per solar unit.
  • Battery backup available for selected loads such as labs or server rooms.
  • Life-critical medical equipment stays on its certified UPS and generator.

Questions

What do people ask about rooftop solar in Gurgaon?

Still have a question?

Talk to an engineer
How much power does a rooftop solar plant make in Gurgaon?
In Gurugram, each kW of solar makes about 4 units a day on average, or about 1,400–1,500 units a year. A summer day makes about 4.8–5.4 units per kW and an average winter day about 3.2–3.8. Heavy fog or smog days can make much less.
Should I buy the plant or pay per unit?
Buying (CAPEX) usually gives the biggest savings over 25 years (estimate) and suits homes and housing societies (subsidy) and businesses that can use depreciation. With pay per unit (OPEX), we invest in the plant and you pay a set rate for each solar unit. The contract typically runs 15–25 years, so it needs a roof you’ll use that long, and these plants are usually from about 50–100 kW.
What subsidy can I get for rooftop solar?
Homes can get up to ₹78,000 under PM Surya Ghar. Housing societies can get ₹18,000 per kW for common areas (up to 3 kW per home, max 500 kW). Subsidised plants need DCR panels from a registered vendor. Businesses don’t get a subsidy, but owners may be able to claim depreciation (ask your CA).
How does net-metering work in Haryana?
Your meter counts power both ways. Units you send to the grid are set off against units you take. In Haryana, net-metering covers rooftop plants up to 500 kW, and usually no bigger than your sanctioned load. We file the net-metering application with DHBVN for you.
Will the panels leak or damage my roof?
A good installer checks your roof’s strength first, waterproofs every fixing point and leaves walkways so nobody steps on the roof covering.
